4Good book, enchanting crush up.

I am not a form of chairman that typically picks adult books by authors we have never listened of. we got this book formed on a facebook debate for a internal author's initial book. After examination a video trailer (awesome BTW - do a google hunt for Galactic Mage and go to a book's website and watch it), and armed with an jungle present label from christmas, we motionless to assistance this man out and take a possibility on his book. we was pleasently surprised.

Overall, a book was utterly good, we thouroughly enjoyed it. The crush adult of sci-fi and anticipation was finished utterly well, nonetheless it took a prolonged while for a dual categorical characters to accommodate up. we knew it was going to occur (if we examination a behind cover, it is obvious), it customarily happend in a final entertain of a book, and once they did a story got a lot better. The author gets we emotionally trustworthy with a categorical characters. The magic/science of Altin (the galactic mage) is finished utterly well, and when Altin is perplexing to figure out a space ships, explaining it in sorcery terms is great.

The book is created for a some-more mature assembly than a Harry Potter and a Eragon array (more mainstream fantasy) and is apart improved than a vampire books that are out there. That said, My customarily disastrous criticism (an because we give a book four, not 5 stars) is that there are some severe rags in a book. we have examination a initial published books of other authors (e.g. Stephen King, Clive Cussler) and they are a same way. They (and Mr. Daulton) seem to be perplexing too tough to be expressive (this is a fantasy/sci-fi book, not Hawthorn or Shakespere), or a author seemed to be forcing themselves to get by a territory of a book, ensuing in something that doesn't upsurge well. Based on how a book ends, and things we examination on FB, there will be some-more books on a way. we feel they will customarily get better, generally once a author gets some-more gentle and assured in his writing.

If we like sci-fi, or fantasy, this is a good book and a comparison of how sorcery and record can strech a same thought kept me intrigued. we wish Mr. Daulton a best of luck, and we will squeeze his subsequent book as we am certain it will be even better.

5An Angry 5 stars! It deserves it, though we merit a sequel!

By J. Gallagher

I waited a few days to write a examination on this one. we was totally taken in by this story that we now find myself a bit riled adult that we cant burst behind into a Authors imagination in a supplement yet!

My tastes change greatly, though we positively have sunk my teeth into many of a Sci-Fi and Fantasy greats, this book has all a makings of such a classic. As mentioned, by prior reviewers, The Galactic Mage managed to interweave dual worlds in a approach that was somehow illusory nonetheless believable.

I found myself reminded of a formidable and immeasurable galaxies and histories that Asimov was means to paint in a Foundation series, we found elements of amusement and fun anachronisms revealing of Twain in his Connecticut Yankee, we laughed out shrill some-more afterwards a few times from a Authors sublime control of mood and pacing. Some of a illusory elements reminded me of a some-more mature Piers Anthony, and some of a minute descriptions of spellcasting reminded me of Magic The Gathering. These were all good reminders, it didn't feel derivative, it customarily had that same turn of peculiarity and an awesome, engaging and plausible star that many Authors customarily dream of achieving.

When we examination anticipation or scholarship novella that has a intrigue in a story, we am customarily prepared to give a Author a mangle in any characterization or inter-personal interactions that make adult a romance. Such things are customarily afterthoughts or during best "stiff" with many Authors in this genre. we was not compulsory to do that with this read. As most as we truly enjoyed a Galaxy as a Author designed it, though a smashing landscape and fantasy, these characters and any storyline with this essay character would still be value a read. It is apparent that Mr. Daulton is an spectator of people and he overwhelmed on some low concepts though bogging a story down.

To me, a cover seems to be an conscious curtsy to aged "pulp" sci-fi/fanatsy art and differently might be revealing of complicated comic books, though dont let that change you, this cover does not "tell" a book.

The author is really learned during characterization, we was finished to worry for a dragon and to hatred a certain Authority figure.

A supplement isn't necessary, a story wasn't left unresolved with any good cliffhangers, I, (and we would bet) and a others who took a time to examination simply also enjoyed a story and character to a indicate that we REQUIRE more.

Please write another!

5Original and well-written story

By Kristal

Other reviewers have finished a good pursuit of summarizing a story: a technologically modernized destiny Earth-type competition of people transport in Enterprise-esque spaceships in one dilemma of a star while in another corner, a mage from a apart world sits on his fascinated building wall forgetful about touching a stars. we desired this idea, that is so strange and ingenious. The book takes a time building any of these dual apart worlds and a expel of characters that live them. we didn't even comprehend that a author flushed any of these apart account threads with a possess language, tone, and stroke until they fundamentally merged--and a strife of essay styles finished a strife of civilizations that most some-more resonant. It was a pointed and positively inventive hold from an author that we demeanour brazen to reading some-more of.
