From a Author
This book is about a family pet, a clean-shaven Chinese Crested named Harry. Chinese Cresteds are mostly touted as being "ugly dogs" and a multiply has constructed a many winners of a "World's Ugliest Dog Contest." Harry is always removing stared during and we mostly hear people call him names like, "alien dog," "rat dog," etc.
My son has Asperger's Syndrome and he too infrequently struggles to "fit in" with a crowd. we recognised a thought for a book to hearten adult my son when he became really romantic after being bullied during school.
Quite simply, while it is a good design book meant to be eye throwing and funny, it has a deeper summary within it. Children can describe to Harry. He is likeable, he is loveable...and nonetheless he is unique! When drafting a story, we attempted to equivocate opposed a emotions compared with being ostracized since Aspergians (like autistic children) mostly struggle with emotions and empathy. So instead, I made an instance out of my pet Crestie ...and Harry a Hairless Wonder Dog was born!
One of a best things about the book is that it is interactive. The reader will demonstrate their consternation about a enchanting things Harry does that make him singular and a child will be prone to answer if they have ever seen a dog do those things. The children are fast taught that Harry is not your normal dog! But in a end, Harry is distinguished for a really things that make him mount out among his dog peers.
I unequivocally wish we suffer reading this book with your child. And don't be fearful to giggle when things get super silly- a swell giggle common with your child is priceless!
Happy Reading,
Melanie Hughes
